Smile

There are 43 muscles in the human face,

and 7 billion people on this beautiful rock.

I want to be the person who changed everyone's face,

But just a little.

Show me your teeth,

and contract your eyes in that gorgeous way that Iets me know that I'm not screwing this up.

I don't want much.

I just want to hear your sharp exhale, and to see your face light up.

A smile would suffice,

but at least a lasting laugh would be nice.

So use those face muscles!

However, I'm no clown,

and you're no crowd,

so I'll settle for a chuckle.

Jokes are like a hunt for happines,

in which the punchline should not remain a mystery.

See, comedy is like a pizza,

because it's not there without a good delivery.

So show me your teeth,

and squint your eyes,

and tilt your head,

and for god's sake...

Smile
