Smile

Even though she was in pain she always kept a smile on her face

But it didn’t matter because

She was a lonely, introverted, freak

All those around her thought

That she was a waste of time

The cuts on her wrists just go to show

She was trying to reach out to you but

You never understood her

You never really cared

You had so many chances to make things right but

You continued to bully and harass her

Everyday was the same

She cried so many tears because

Slowly even though she didn’t show it she was dying

With all your hateful words burned into her heart and mind she realized that

She was an outsider who didn’t belong

She cut herself at night because

You didn’t realize her feelings were that strong so strong in fact that

She’d hide in her room for a week straight, turn the lights off and hide under the covers crying because

You were never there for her so eventually she had to resort to other methods

She would write in her journal and when that filled up she would buy a new one because

She stressed over boys and school work

She had a job

She was just a normal teenage girl

But in the end it wasn’t enough to save her

She tried her very hardest to fight the demons in her mind

It was released on the news the next day

Late one night a girl was found dead in her bathtub huge gashes down the length of her arms

The whole neighborhood was in shock because

No one knew the demons of this girl

Who put up such a thick mask that in the end would be her demise cause

If one person had known then they could have saved the life a girl

But there’s always an if

If only she had stopped smiling then all this could have been avoided

A poor innocent soul taken from this world

A smiling beauty

Who just wanted to be free

A story about a girl

That’s all this is

A story

“Now read it from the bottom up”
