Solace in Eternal Rest

Location

Many a day passed..

I waited.

He lay there..

Wasting away.

Neither him nor I could fix this.

Fatefully death had

Finally taken his hand

And had greeted me like so many times before.

I felt betrayed,

For He had taken away my best friend,

Yet ended his suffering.

We all owe Him life,

Some more than others,

Maybe not even our own.

I remain in solace with Him,

Granting myself and my father

So much more time.

He had been kind and fair.

I will meet Him again, someday,

But one can only hope for never.
