Sometimes

Tue, 11/07/2017 - 23:05 -- 1meeka2

Sometimes, the world rocks.

Rickety, rackety, never a halt,

Kissing in the hallways,

Gripping each other’s hands,

As if time is on the brink,

Of complete tumble,

And rumble,

And struggle.

“They are so cute together!”

You laugh, you play… it goes too far.

“You betrayed me.”

Sometimes, love rocks.

Rickety, rackety, never a halt,

Walking down the hallways,

Sick of the love tick,

As if time is at a slow,

As if you turn old.

“Are you dating anybody yet?”

Sometimes, a friend comes to your aid.

Rickety, rackety, never a halt,

But their heart steady, competent,

Concerned about your health,

Concerned of your future,

Never flippant of your friends.

Never expectant.

Never concerned about satisfying themselves.

Never needing a puppet show.

Sometimes, you grow old.

Rickety, rackety, never a halt,

But your heart is stable, compassionate,

Concerned about your partner’s health,

Concerned of their future,

Never flippant of their friends.

Never expectant.

Never concerned about satisfying yourself.

Never hosting a puppet show.

Sometimes, you hold hands.

Sometimes, you share a home.

Sometimes, you share a family.

Sometimes, you laugh.

Sometimes, you forget.

Sometimes, you plummet.

But every time, you can’t get far,

Before your friend runs up next to you,

And says, “I love you.”
