Somewhere Only We Know

Once upon a time,

He was freedom, grace, and everything in between

Clad in a fluorescent green suit and daring smile,

His hands full of acceptance with a sense of comfort.

Now, this isn’t really a fairytale, because wishes are supposed to come true.

Somewhere only we know, I wish to see him again.

Flying in with TinkerBell to save the day,

The Lost Boys providing back-up for whatever they may face.

Using his wit to protect this family he created,

Back on Neverland, where no one ever grows old.

Brilliant and strong, his age may have stayed still but his speed did not.

My arms are outstretched, running after Peter Pan,

Always chasing this boy who stole my heart.

The years have passed and I have aged whilst moving on,

Although never really giving up on finding

somewhere only we know.

This isn’t a fairytale, this is reality.

But in reality, that means infinite possibilities, as long as you are willing.

Although my wish can’t come true just yet,

This doesn’t extinguish my hope,

It only kindles my flame.

somewhere only we know, i will see you again. -Wendy, a former Lost Boy.
