Sunset Night
Location
When you leave
you venture above
dormant pavement
This is a memory
This is a moment
You feel all the night’s breeze
just the right fleece
warm and worn
Towering pines
outlook houses preserved
in street light glaze
Zooming in
A crowded caterpillar crawls
to the ocean’s shh
to the firepit’s crackle
Content smokey eyes
a constellation’s
glinting grin
The wind stirs you
into that calm tired
You plug in the music
that sweeps you home
