Sunshine in the Rain

Dear the one I used to love,

We felt like we had the world at our feet,

Our faces shone bright with love like the sun.

No one could deny that we were complete,

They knew we were sincere not just having fun.

Our love felt like flowers blooming in spring.

We were like two peas in a pod, clinging

Together for every doubt and warning.

But the sunshine goes down, and night blocks day.

It goes on to the next season and flowers brown.

That perfect couple you see starts to decay.

The world you felt like you had crumbles down.

No light to be seen, nor candle, nor spark.

And you are alone, alas, in the dark.

Sincerely, the one you used to love
