There was one box, now the box is open.

There was one big box.
Six sides, white, with straight lines.
Nothing made this box different than any other,
But it kept everything imprisoned in its plain,
Bleak, pale, and controlling walls.
A firework sat hungry with anticipation inside the box;
spark extinguished by the boxes lack of oxygen.
So confined and forced to conform by this white square cube.
Imprisoned, maltreated, and oppressed the firework dwelled.
All it needed was a flame big enough to create the explosion.
Like a tug of war of fire across the fuse a tension grew from within.
A match, or strike, or burn was yearned for.
Along came Susan B. Anthony, Judy Shepard, and Cesar Chavez
Adding more than just passion to the struggle.
Then came change, amendment, and tolerance.
The box creaked open, but didn’t budge enough to let the firework go off.
So the firework fought back relentlessly protesting in any way possible.
A push, one pull, then finally an explosion.
At that moment the firework burst the box open itself!
Blinding color and astounding light contrasted against the dark night background
Bursting from the box.
There was found perspective, awe, and diversity.
Now the box is open.
