Time For Change

Sheesh how the time goes by

Before we were slaves being whipped day by day

Now we can sue our current master for discrimination

We can expand our knowledge through easily accessible education

Whereas back in the day the white man did not look at us as nothing but a stupid nigga

But our melonin does not define our abilities

We could have completed all the marvelous accomplishments we have done today if whites did not abolish our hopes and dreams and put down our mentality

Slave masters consistently tried to erase our smiles of joy and eliminate our happieness

Our souls would yearn for freedom

But the strong willed and highly blessed black individuals would stand up for their freedom and fight for what is right

Even though we were beaten, bruised, and burned we still petitioned for freedom and protested for equality

We gained strong black leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Malcom X, Harriet Tubman, Al Sharpton, Rosa Parks and many more who have shaped and influenced our future beliefs on social classes, racial discrimination, equal rights, and freedom

But these leaders are not the only ones who have shaped our mindset to visualize and evaluate the white mans ways of diminishing our cultures and opinions and implementing new structures that do not coordinate with who African Americans are

Your family, friends, co-workers, classmates, and teachers can educate you progressively and agree with you on your beliefs and ideology to work towards a goal of acting on and attacking the white mans power
