Timing

I felt it more

When I was younger.

The unconditional feeling of every touch and every hug.

You were the nest and I was a tiny lovebird.

I could tell that you wanted me to grow. You decided

When it was time to move on.

The thing is, it wasn’t your choice.

You have no say in what I do.

I knew it wasn’t right anymore

When it started to get rough.

The best decision was to leave. I can’t have

You making me suffer.

I was still a lovebird, but

When it came to my pair, it wasn’t you.

The happiness returned, with things such as laughs and giggles.

You wouldn’t understand.

Now there is pleasure, content, and joy.

Now nothing can stop me.

Now that I have the support you couldn’t give me.

Now that I am loved entirely.
