Uncle Sam's View On Us

They say this is the home of the brave and land of the free
But it shouldn't take them 8 years just to hear our dream.
There was never a throne, but there was a King.
Proving Uncle Sam isn't as fair as he seems.
We are each other's brothers and sisters
Yet, we comfort each other with the word "nigga"
We, as a people, are the ones stereotyping
Uncle Sam is just recognizing.
We are the same race, yet amused by complexions.
I see the judgement, but where's the affection?
Instead of disbelievers and freethinkers,
Be inquisitive and dreamers.
I will do like those before me, and lead by example
Even if the burden is more than I can handle.
