Unequal Stares

As an optimistic young African American lady, waking up to the world was a dream.
As I walked down hallways full of diversity and seeing an evil stare from someone with fairer skin.
My intension is to look down and do not meet those intensifying stares because I AM unequal in my mind still and forever will.
Once before, young men and women fought and they fought for equality.
I could never… ever harness as much strength as strong brothers and sisters did as they fight for what is accurate.
Who am I, to say I cannot look into the eyes of someone with blue eyes… green… brown… grey or whomever!!!
Once again, as a young black lady growing up into a cruel harsh brutal world…
I have to raise my head up and show that I represent for my equality of all mankind.
I will be the walk exterior and interior of every single black … white… Irish person but whoever represented civil rights.
And I will be a role model, to everyone who walks with their head down to scared to gaze into the eyes of someone with fairer skin….
And I will tell them you are equal… so look up.
