waves

Love is like a wave
The beginning is calm, settling
before the two meet

then the air whips and whirls and forces two souls together
and the waves begin to ripple across the steady surface of the water

time passes and people grow
the wave begins to form and it gets louder
the love is so loud like it's so proud to be there

but one second it's building up and you think that you have forever

and the best it's gone
all it was

was a build up to an inevitable crash
when you're riding the ripples in the steady waters
you never really expect it to be over
it feels so calm, so right, so damn promising
until some unknown force builds it up too high
forcing you to be pulled back into the ocean
and start right back where you began
