We Are All Poets

What does Poetry mean to me?

The words in my head that I can't get out.

That's Poetry.

My fingers flwing over keys as my head clicks along.

That's Poetry.

Poetry is me. With a computer. And my brain.

In sync.

It's is pure creativity.

Flowing throught me.

To be a poet is to use yourself to make beauty.

And beauty comes in all sizes.

All shapes.

Colors.

Genders.

Loves.

Humans.

Words.

Poetry connects us, inspires us, makes us all real.

I am a poet because I want to make people feel.

Feel less alone.

Less angry.

Less hateful.

More loved.

More remembered.

More inspired.

More alive.

And I am not alone.

I am a poet because I want that phrase to be spoken by every human being on this blue, beautiful planet.

I am a poet because I want everyones' beautiful brains to read that and believe it.

I am a poet because we are all beautiful and unique and rare and I want us all to stand together and believe in ourselves.

And I am a poet because I want everyone to be a poet, too.

To tell their story in their own unique way.

To make their own poems.

To make someone else believe it, too.

I am a poet. And this is my poem.
