What I Need

Stranded on an island would be an adventure
The tropical smells to entice the senses
Roaring waves to calm the ears
Exotic flowers to appease sight
Canopy shelter from dangers
Knowledge to braid rope
Scorching sun to warm the skin
Content with fruit and fish
Brain full of plans on survival
I've always kept my pocketknife.
I would keep you close as well
Full of plans to make you laugh
Your voice my sustenance
Your skin my warmth
The knowledge to hold your hand
Your arms would be my home
Your green eyes hold all the beauty
Your voice is its own soundtrack
Inhaling your scent like oxygen
You are what I need to survive
