What If

I step out of bed, and I tie my hair.

I open the window and let in the fresh air.

…Actually this isn’t meant to rhyme

But I need to tell you something I think about all the time:

What if nobody ever felt hunger or cold?

What if no one’s house had to be sold?

What if the gay couple could walk on the street?

And what if the government didn’t cheat?

What if there wasn’t bullying and violence?

What if at night there was silence?

What if money didn’t mean power?

What if this earth wasn’t so sour?

What if everyone was healthy?

And what if there were no such thing as people being wealthy?

What if everyone had an equal opportunity?

What if all we saw was unity?

What if everyone had an education?

What if you and I had an ongoing motivation?

We need to see the world as it is

In order to change it to how we want it to be.

Because in this world there’s nothing to miss,

But first we need to show people how to see…
