Who I Am

Because I love you, Love is scary.

The whole time worrying;

Who’ll see us?

What will they think?

Because I love you, Love is paranoid.

The whole time questioning;

Is what we’re doing wrong?

Is this a sin?

But because I love you, Love is comfortable.

Knowing that you’re always there,

Always together,

My head against your chest.

Because I love you, Love is new.

Everyday I love you with all of my heart

And then the next day

I love you even more.

Because I love you, Love is honest.

When I’m sad you don’t tell me that everything is okay,

Just that you love me

And that together we’ll make it through.

Because I love you, Love is sacrifice.

Giving up a piece of myself

Expecting nothing in return

Just happy to make you smile.

Because I love you, Love is real.

It’s something I dream about at night and then wake up to in the morning.

It’s something that no one can ever take away from me

Because it’s who I am when I’m with you.

When I’m with you, nothing else matters.

Because I love you, I am me.
