Why?

one drink, then two
happy, bubbly, nice, and sweet
and i start to wonder who
stands on those feet.
three drinks, then four
careless, stupid, and matter-of-fact
i say no more,
and that's when you start the act.
"i'm okay, ill be careful"
i say no, we made a pact.
you take the bottle, take on long pull.
five drinks, six, and seven.
i cant keep count
are you at eleven?
from mole hill to mount
you keep on going
angry, mean, and hateful
the birds are crowing.
summer spring winter fall
you keep on going
you drink through them all
don't touch me
keep away
you're evil, hateful, cant you see?
you play the game i don't wanna play.
it never stops,
it never will
even the cops
cant make you still
i want you to know
what i think
and when i go
it'll be in ink
where i went
and why i didn't stay
you bent and bent
till i broke away.
i don't hate you
just what you've done
one drink, then two.
i've gotta run.

I enjoyed this poem's cathartic honesty, its poignant realism. It conveys your ability to tell a relatable story, an elusive element which writers constantly strive for. Well done, and I can't wait to see it published.

Star Soaked Hands

Really enjoyed this piece, and expect more in the future.

wow this is really interesting and amazing. try to understand that when people drink too much it is due to a serious mental/emotional problem. and the best thing they could use is a sound friend.

I enjoy the format in which you write.

Keep it up, writing is a cathartic experience.

I wrote a poem once on how alcohol and drugs ruined my family.

Know that you are not alone, and that writing will always give you someone with whom you can relate, even if you don't know them.

It shows, if not you, then that person that they aren't alone and they have someone else with whom they can share similar life pasts.
