Why do I Stand for the Flag

"Oh say can you see...,"

We're living in a land that is still not free.

They kill sons of our mothers

No "Sons of Liberty"

Can stop the deaths of our brothers,

If we're both American why are we hurting each other

Filled with death and violence,

to keep our voices in silence,

makes us think differently next time we hear them sirens.

Are "All Men Created Equal?"

Because "America has never been America to me"

It's a land of hopes and many dreams

Land of brave but not of free

If you think so then I say to thee

"How many innocent black graves do you see?"

"And how many more do there need to be?"

Distribution of Opportunity

Is not passed out equally

O' sweet land of Liberty

America is a beautiful nation.

The problem I'm facing

is that the ideals are complacent

while my mind is racing

Like you have to face this

America is racist

Civil rights gave us Obama

then for awhile they take six

so then I ask again

Are "All Men Created Equal?"

maybe the Constitution needs a sequel

The man who wrote it raped his slave

maybe the system met its final days

I stand for a flag that waved

proud and loud

above a nation of slaves

A land of regression

Race based oppression

Justfying Confederates

For pride in South Secession

I stand and pledge in hopes to teach a lesson

I stand for the long way we've come

I stand for the Civil victories won

Time and time again I stand

In hope to forgive

In hopes be a bigger man
