A Willow in a Forest of Spruce

Awake and ready to leave early in the morning

I walk out into the dim light and head towards the forest with a book in hand.

I walk through a forest of Spruce, whose bark is rough and unpleasant smelling

They are so uncomfortable that they force me to stand.

As I walk deeper into the Spruce forest

After a while I come up to a clearing and there I see a beautiful sight

A Willow with teardrop like branches and leaves that came with sweet promise

I settle into the trunk of the tree and close my eyes because it feels just right.

Opening my eyes, I see those tear drop leaves and all their colors

A leaf slowly floats down from a branch above me in it’s colors of green, yellow, and red

Listening you can hear the willow making the sounds of joy of old reunited lovers

As I listen to the beautiful song of the willow, I feel the long forgotten leaf land on my head

I open up my book on chapter one

I feel peace and tranquility as I read as if the willow is listening and watching

When I read I notice that nature has quieted while I read in the sun

I imagine that nature was smiling at me for finding this secret place of magic and belonging

I feel a smile creep from my lips for I believe that I have found true happiness

As the sun begins to set, I get up from my comfortable position in the willow tree

I look up at the willow smiling and feeling as if the willow is smiling as well with giddiness

I say goodbye with the promise of many other days here with the willow in glee

As I walk the way back through the trees that are reproduced

I understand that my true home is there reading under the comfort of the willow tree

It is my only sanctuary out of the large forest of spruce

Whenever I go to the Willow in a forest of Spruce, I feel that I can finally breathe.
