Worse Things than Wolves
Once Upon A Time
Little Red Riding Hood was not followed by a wolf
he was but a man along.
He had no fangs,
no claws,
but his hands were strong
and his heart was cold.
He had a smile
that dripped with charm
and deceit.
Little Red Riding Hood was not followed by a wolf
he was but a man all along.
A man who followed a girl
who had no treats
for he wanted something better.
He took something
she didn't know she could give.
He stole something
she didn't know she could lose.
Little Red Riding Hood was not followed by a wolf
he was but a man all along.
A man that the villaged praised
and admired.
In the eyes of the people,
he could do no wrong.
He was a bright, young man
with a future.
How could he be responsible?
They asked the little girl in red
about what she wore,
what she said,
what she did.
They made her feel
as if she was to blame.
After all, the woods are no place
for a little girl.
They accused her
until she believed.
They ignored her story
until it turned into a fairytale.
Little Red Riding Hood was not followed by a wolf
he was but a man all along.
Her mother warned her
of such men.
Men that take
much more than any beast can.
For there are worse things
than death,
there are worse things
than wolves.
Thing that only happen
to little girls who go into the woods.
Little Red Riding Hood was not followed by a wolf
but now she wishes
that one had.

Wow powerful comparison and allusion to the Disney tale with dark reality of child molestation and abuse. Seems to be about paternal abuse. Expressed in overawing way and style that draws effects and emotions so poetically. Kudos.
I'm a new poet here but I've been writing for other sites for ages and they have enjoyed so I would like your thoughts on my latest poem too. Pleez do comment on it.
