years after years

when i was child my mother use to tell me dont let the color of

your skin define who you are.

keep yuh head up and yull make it real far

one day your name will be written within the stars

when i was a teenager my mother use to tell me

dont fall in love too quick

and know where you stand

at this point in life you are in need of no man

now that im an adult my mother tells me

im proud of you bby girl . ive done my deeds

im here for you in any any needs

now that im a parent i tell my kids

be strong and confident, and never let no one tell u wrong

never let the color of your skin define who you are in amatter of time youll make it very far

never give up and its ok to be emotional

never let anyone tell you that mommy doesnt love you
