For You My Little Flower

I write this for you,

My little flower.

I write this for us,

So you may know our story.

Did you know my little flower,

That you were a tiny seedling?

I could hold you in the palms of my hands.

Did you know my little flower,

I tried my hardest to find a beautiful garden for us?

It was quite the sight to see.

Did you know my little flower,

It was hard for us?

You never wanted to drink in the lovely sunlight.

Did you know my little flower,

I cried when you first bloomed?

I still remember the morning dew on your petals.

Did you know my little flower,

That luck was never on our side?

The cool crisp air came to early that summer.

Did you know my little flower,

I was ignorant to the times to come?

I didn’t know how to protect you.

Did you know my little flower,

That a gradern came to help us?

He promised he knew how to take care of you.

Did you know my little flower,

I love you more than life itself?

I know it’s hard to see sometimes.

My little flower,

I hope you read this

And understand.
