Young and Naive

I never understood why we couldn't be friends.
I thought segregation is over...
Isn't that what Martin, Rosa, and Malcom fought for?
"Equality for ALL" is our nations ideal.
Forgive Me if I am wrong, I was young and naive
I was blind to the reality
I wish everyone was blind
Maybe then we would not see the color
Especially since a blind one can't judge a book by its cover
A blind one can hear and feel, shouldn't that be important?
Forgive Me if I am wrong, I was young and naive
How long can the judging go on?
The harsh reality that
We will never become equal...
...Is a thought beyond reality
