Once Upon a Poem Scholarship Slam

Wanna win $1,000 for college? Thought so. Keep reading to find out how.

You know how it goes: you read the words "Once upon a time..." and you automatically know you're gonna be reading a fairy tale. And whether you grew up with Disney or Grimms' versions, you also know pretty much how all of them go. Snow White gets lazy about her chores, Cinderella has a midnight curfew, and Hansel and Gretel meet a delicious demise. But what about the parts of the stories we don't know? Or what if the stories we're familiar with didn't actually happen that way?

What is your interpretation of a classic fairy tale?

We want to know what would happen in a fairy tale if you were in charge. Maybe you've always been curious about a different character's perspective-- was the wolf in The Three Little Pigs really a vegetarian who just desperately wanted some friends? Are these stories in need of a modern twist? Rapunzel would have been way less lonely if she had a cell phone in that tower. Plus, who the heck decided all princesses need to end up with a prince?! Tell us in a poem your version of a fairy tale for your chance to win.

Note: This is a sweepstakes scholarship. That means a winner will be chosen from a random drawing.

The fairytale doesn't always need a prince. She can save herself, she can save herself, she can save herself.
