Poems about Immigration
The land of the free
Oh, the possibilities that there could be
Free to exist as our true selves
16 hours was all it took,
To make the change from where I stood.
I wanted to go back to that familiar place,
On a special morning in December
I landed with only 2 suitcases
Cleanliness important since birth
Ingrained in his head since he was a kid
Friday morning palms overhead
When I saw my dad cry I was lost, the male role model who held back tears when nothing would hold back for him.
