I'm From Cherished Memories

I’m From Cherished Memories

By: Bryanna Rivera

I am from a house painted blue,

Like the bright sky itself.

And shutters bright white,

That would swing and frighten us,

All through the night.

I’m from an avocado tree,

As tall as Rapunzel's tower,

Where possibilities were endless,

Not too near not too far.

I am from sliding and swinging,

All around blue puddles and sticky mud,

With my older brother,

Who my mom would constantly ground.

I’m from a religion quite known,

Catholic, they say,

Where we worship the Lord,

His mother and saints.

I am from a hardworking father,

Who works everyday,

To give us the luxuries

That we have today.

I’m from a mother so generous,

God himself would be proud,

She loves and nurtures us,

And keeps us safe and sound.

I am from a world that’s not perfect,

I’m sure you have seen.

But within it are memories,

Forever engraved in my heart.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
