That’s How I Glow Up

When I look back at my past I often think I am a mess

From crying over spilled milk that always had me under stress

But then as I wonder to myself I truly must confess

I learned how to study my mistakes in order to pass my tests

That’s How I Glow Up

I focused on just living instead of growing up too fast

I allowed myself to enjoy every moment and every laugh

I had to change my destination before I put my foot back on the gas

I can finally see my reflection instead of replacing it with a mask

That’s How I Glow up

I found courage in myself and let go of my fears

I became a leader of my life instead of letting my peers

I gave up doubtfulness to give myself cheers

I found joy instead of pain each time I shed my tears

 That’s How I Glow up

I stop being nosy and I let go of all the drama

I knew I couldn’t afford to let down my dad and my mama

Now I only worry about every zero and every comma

And striving to make history like President Obama

That’s How I Glow up

No more talking negative I want to break the curse

If I got nothing good to say I call it a blessing first

I’m sick of feeling pitiful so my future is my nurse

I’m gonna wear my confidence like it’s a brand new purse

That’s How I Glow up

I realized life is short I got to cherish my time

That’s why I keep on working to stay up on my grind

I just got to remember that success can be mine

As long as I keep growing I probably will be fine

That’s How I Glow up
