“The Land of Desiccated Dreams”

Fri, 06/21/2013 - 20:04 -- Wethnie

Location

A mirage upon the endless sands

The heat whispering for you to sleep

Your body slows to the movement of the timid wind

The will to survive has vanished like the waters

Within this endless beach

They have covered your footprints leaving no sign

That you walked upon here ready to die

Here you have no choice for there are no roads to follow

In this land of desiccated dreams the loneliness will leave you hollow

The sands swirl beneath your feet a small whirlpool

Waiting to eat you once you accept your defeat

The heat of the glaring orb above you

Brings you to your knees, you crumble

As you crawled upon the sands ready to die

You lay upon this beach not knowing when

You've ever been so deep in your defeat

You allow the mirage to take you

To the land of desiccated dreams

With all those who have come before you

Whom walked upon the sands ready to die
