13th Amendment

1865...a year of freedom

Free at last! Free at last!

I have a dream to be free

From these cold chains of brass.

Colored in bondage

Bounded by ivory ignorance.

Fighting for freedom is a crime

Slavery will be my sentence.

Four hundred years

Of crucial...bloody labor.

Free at last? Free at last?

A question unanswered.
