ADULTHOOD

Do you ever just let your eyes wander,
Let them sift along, searching for purpose?
At once it appears, no time to ponder,
On no account have I been so nervous.
Nothing could fully prepare one for this;
Yet, you must be ready in order to
Avoid the failures that ruin the bliss.
What will happen when it is up to you?
I peer at myself, set for a new day.
It's unfortunate, how much I've worn out;
Dark circles present, but I need the pay.
In little time, for sure there is no doubt,
It will have been worth it, all the hard work.
I will be a success, can't help but smirk.
