Adulting

Thu, 04/13/2017 - 22:14 -- Luvenia

There are many times I've found to have defined me as an adult,

but I myself did not perceive the state of my affairs.

But the day I delivered my Athena

I seemed to grow the grayest of my hairs.

My Athena is the voice of my inner self she speaks to me real low,

she guides me to my destiny although I do not always go.

One day she whispered to me while I was singing my niece to sleep,

she said the point of this child is for you to learn

and she is here to teach, that day my mind came alive;

I learned that the childish parts of me are what made my mind abroad,

for a child was the best kind of mind to have

leaving adult as my facade.
