All In The Course Of A Year

The Most High God has changed my life and opened my eyes to the world.

He has forever changed me with these simple words:

"He is forever unchanging" and "Nothing lasts forever"

Nothing? Not the moon and the sun and the stars in the sky?

Not the soft summer breeze and the silent winter nights?

No. Nothing lasts forever.

Not the flowers he sent or the words you never meant

Not the bad things you feel or the wounds, for they will heal

Not the love you will gain or inevitable pain

Not the sands of Time, neither yours or mine

I'm getting into it now, the Flow, the inspiration and peace that you all must know

But I'm also aware that this too will not last

Just another thing to move on to the past

But it is these things that will not survive

for eternity that will help keep you alive

The sun and the rain and the joy and the pain

And the day and the night and the dark and the light

Has allowed me to thrive and avoid living lies

And has broken me of these material ties

that bind us to earth and make up humanity

I am so proud to say I have lost that insanity.

My family is free to do more than survive

'Cause to live doesn't mean that you're really alive

There are eyes that look, but they do not see

They are the eyes of the world, and at one point me.

There are ears that hear, but they do not listen

And this knowledge makes my seeing eyes glisten

With tears of sorrow and anguish that others may never understand.

The Most High God has changed my life by being forever unchanging

He has opened my eyes and ears

And what they see and hear

Makes me take action with my passion

All in the course of a year.
