amen.

How does an almost adult praise God?

I give thanks through my own body.

It seems to be the only way I feel connected to you.

My youthfulness hadn't the faintest clue of courage, favor, or ecstacy.

The embers of cells feel lifted to the surface of my flesh.

Your light kindles behind my eyes to bring warmth to my conscience.

Blood rushes in my ears and continues its journey.

Driving my higher, into the intimacy of my own body. Must we learn to exalt

You differently. I feel the heat subside,

but your presence still lingers.

Is it sin or worship? Is it cardinal against your name, or is praising you in advance?

I lay.

Is that how a new adult praises God?
