America

Dear Grandpa,

To the bright, beautiful stars and stripes, that we look up to each and everyday To the great plains, grasslands, wetlands, and coasts that we love to explore In the country we call home To the towns, farmlands, or cities that we live in Where we encounter and socialize with our family, friends, and new acquaintances Where we create history, make memories, live in the present, and look forward to the future. Where someone doesn't care where you're from or what you look like; just who you are inside Where together as one we are free to be who we want to be In the country we call home Where success and your dreams can be made regardless of your background Where your rights, religion, and freedom are all protected In the country we call home P.S. Thank you for serving our country to keep all of this alive! Sincerely, Your grateful granddaughter!
