America the Formidable

America the

For∙mi∙da∙ble: “Inspiring fear, or

respect

through being impressively large, powerful, intense or capable.”

America is

Impressive: the land of

Opportunity

But for who?

America is

Large: vast in

Size

Seemingly going on forever.

America is

Powerful: the winner of

Wars

The homefront readily defended.

America is

Intense: causing many to

Cower

Intimidated by none.

America is

Capable: nothing seems out of

Reach

For those in the Blessed U.S.A.

But America is also

Depressive: a land of

Missed opportunity

For the ones that are left behind

America is also

Small: in the grand scheme of

Things

Our problems don’t seem like problems at all.

America is also

Weak: divided by

Differences

Are we “United” or “Untied?”

America is also

Apathetic: is there concern or

Interest

For the well-being of others?

America is also

Inept: somehow we aren’t able to

Help the poor

In the land of great opportunity.

America the

Formidable: a place that has the

Potential

To be great, but isn’t there yet.
