America the (once) great

Taxes

Religion

Freedom

Slavery

War

Poverty

Problems.

America was once great.

But now, we are only a shadow of our forefathers.

We fight over insignifcant problems

We take others for granted

We fight battles in other people's wars,

when the war in our own country is tearing us apart.

Women fight for their rights,

but don't see what they are taking for granted.

America was once great.

We used to fight for the right reasons

We used to protect.

We used to have freedom

We used to have resources.

We used to be great.

But the key phrase here, is used to.

No, America is not great.

America is good,

America is average,

America is mediocre,

America is not great.

But we can be.

We can fix our problems.

We can change our priorities from war and hurt,

to education and the future.

We can fix our foreign policies,

so that it's no longer us and them.

We can help our current immigrants,

because at one point we were all immigrants.

We can change.

We can fix.

We can be fixed.

Is America great?

No.

But it can be.
