American Issues

Living in a country

Where we are supposed to be free.

To have certain rights.

Speech.

Press.

Assembly.

Petition.

We are supposed to be democracy.

A country where people come to be treated fairly.

How have we let ourselves elect a racist bigot?

A sexist.

A rapist.

A man who has no respect for those lower than him.

A wan who wants to resurrect the damn KKK.

A man who immigrants believe will deport them.

I refuse to let him bring me down though.

He will not break my spirit.

He may threaten me with guns

And meaningless words

But he cannot control my mind.

I will fight until my last breath

Because I will be free.

My country
