American Sonnet

Come with me and see,

the lovers by the sea.

They are holding hands,

and make wedding plans.

I hope they stay together,

slumbering at night holding one another.

But many will not.

A lot of those relationships will internally rot.

A peaceful I love you,

before they have better things to do.

I hope they stay together though.

I hope they stay together though.

I hope they stay together though,

and make it in the morning anew.
