I want to retire
at 21
I’m tired.
And it’s pure laziness
because I haven’t done much yet
but I’m always so tired.
I’m not like people alive
suffering daily
eating once a week
meager food quantities
carrying water
every day for 8 miles
on my head
without the right to control my own
reproductive choices.
In this country
we’ve got people who will bomb clinics that test on animals
or kill animals
even though PETA kills more animals in their shelter every year than any other animal shelter.
Hypocrits. At least that’s what that comedian and mute guy taught me
on their online info show
which could be
complete ludicrous.
If you had to write a bibliography of your life
it would have to include facts from “some guy who said something to me once” and “that song my friend always sang in the backseat while I drove”
We very rarely ask to see evidence. Much easier
to accept and stubbornly defend it’s honor as validity.
I digress…
So we’ve got more people willing to terrorize
innocence
for the wild notion of bunnies or religion
yet we’ve completely allowed,
and on an average day, even pay
for the enslavement or torture of our fellow man.
Am I the only one who finds that a little fucked up?
Or do we all? Constantly,
In the group conscience--collective conscience--
think this
But just get stuck on the and yet…
that can span an eternity to really ask.
And it’s these words that are wearing me out,
and yet?
