And I Missed Her

Too long

You've been gone for far too long

Our laughter should be in my ears again

Our frivolous hearts, once again clever

Trudging through the mud

Laughing at the boys

Talking

Far into the evening

Until night redresses

With the light of day

Listening to your music

Songs that made us giggle

At each other

At the world

At Trey Songz

Let me see you again

Let me know my dearest friend

Give me time to pretend

That time has not come

That the clock can stand still

That going forward is but a choice

And not a demand

The clocks heavy hand

Has slipped by

Like water cupped in a child's hands

Let's hold it back

For I love you

And I miss you

And I miss us
