And it cuts like a knife

Mon, 12/12/2016 - 16:20 -- Beana
  • Tears in your eyes you ask me "Should I have left him the first time?"
  •
  • The car is silent.
  •
  • You found the pictures on his computer
  •
  • You are scared silent.
  •
  • You hear her voice on his phone
  •
  • You weep silently. Silent.
  •
  • You are alone in this, you are alone in this
  •
  • Who will take you now, three kids, aging looks,
  •
  • Who will love you now
  •
  • Is he your only option
  •
  • When did the conversations taper off to silence
  •
  • When did your heart become silent?
  •
  • Silent
  •
  • Should I have left him the first time
  •
  • Or the second
  •
  • or the third
  •
  • When did you convince yourself that this was the best option for you
  •
  • You sit in your car on your phone for hours
  •
  • You don't want to be inside.
  •
  • When you see him you see her. You see them.
  •
  • But you stay silent. You stay silent.
  •
  • Tears in your eyes you ask me, "Should I have left him the first time?"
  •
  • The car is silent.
  •
  • I tell you "I only want you to be happy."
  •
  • The thought makes you cry
  •
  • I hold you in silence.
  •
  • And the silence is violent.
