Angels Can Fly

Angels can fly

I am an Angel

I want to learn to fly.

So I jumped…

But I found out

I was no angel

Angels have wings and flawless skin

I have none. No more.

My wings have been shredded from time

Leaving my blades open and exposed

The flesh around it so wounded and raw

The blood flowing like a river

Hitting the ground. Oh look mommy!

It’s a bird!

It’s flying too!

Look mommy it must be an angel too

But mommy why am I not flying

I look forward seeing the fast approach

Mommy! I want to be an angel too.

SMACK!

Look mommy I’m an angel like you!
