Awaken Dream

Awoken I was as I start the day,

Hands pressed together as I sat and prayed,

Navy tux lay across my bed,

Top hat rests atop my head,

Outside the mansion waits my personal driver,

Off to the airport and a place much drier,

Personal jet fueled up and ready to go,

A vacation to Southern California in San Diego,

Five star hotel and a view of beaches,

Mango margarita with a couple of peaches,

Clubs at night along many celebrity stars,

Pulling up along the block in their million dollar cars,

Chardonnay and Hennessy in my cup,

Shot after shot as the night turns up,

Drunk on anything I may have had,

Can’t get myself to hotel so I call a cab,

Buzzed and blurry as I’m back in my room,

The nights not over so the party resumes,

I gradually knock out and fall asleep,

As I dream of anything in a sleep so deep,

My eyes then open as I lay in confusion,

I must have been living in weird allusion,

None of this happened it was all in my head,

Back in the ghetto and a life full of dread
