Awe-Inspiring Things

We dance under a dome of azure,

emerald grass beneath our feet.

Raindrops create a steady rhythm

and like freckles dot our cheeks.

Sheltered by our linen white castles

that we crafted from cotton sheets,

paper crowns grace our heads

and we are made kings and queens.

Saturated by shimmering lights

and set aglow by inner peace,

we use mason jars to capture

the fleeting gold sun beams.

Cardboard ships send us to space

flying effortlessly without wings-

with a child’s imagination,

discover awe-inspiring things.
