Back Home (I Will)

When I come back to the United States, there are a lot of things I will do. I will kiss the ground, I will kiss my family, and my dog, Sammy, too.

I will soak in the sun, I will fill my stomach up with food. I will laugh and I will sleep, and everything else Americans do.

I will walk more, and I will open my eyes. I will appreciate what I have, I will know it's a prize.

I will wear red, white, and blue, I will drink water for free. I will lay by the pool and tan, and not worry about how much it costs to pee.

I will spend time with friends, I will write on my blog. I will work harder than ever, and I will drive without getting lost.

I will relax and sit in comfort, but I will continue to dream. I will imagine the world ahead of me, even if it ends up not what it seems.

I will love where I am. And I will love where I've been. And I will love where I'm going on this journey that never ends.
