be

Location

You held my hand for so long,

Then you were gone,

and I don't know how to be alone,

or do things on my own,

You left me in the ocean and I'm sinking like a stone,

So I'm lost,

But I'll find out who I am no matter what the cost,

Now I'm left here terrified I'm falling,

Because the ground is rolling,

But I'm not going down,

I'm strong,

So I plant my feet and send roots into the ground,

And they keep me standing tall,

Even in a time when I feel so small,

You will not break me,

And never will I fall into the shadow of conformity,

I'll be as ancient as the tall oak tree,

Or as wild as the wind set free,

And I will run,

Caring only for what's fun,

Because there's not enough time,

To be just fine,

It's got to be good,

Everything should be as it should,

I'm like the bird,

Unafraid to sing a song that's meant to be heard,

So let it out,

No one knows what life's about,

But it's a battle to be fought,

And a lesson to be taught,

So listen,

And learn,

Unleash the mysteries of an earth that's centuries old,

Just look, and truly see,

Just be.
