Be near Lord

Lord, never has life been so hard
Why do you delay to respond

To my heart’s cries everyday?

It is not only I, but my family also

Who is desperate for Your response
I don’t ask for the world
Or expensive things
I desire peace and security
I desire to see my family not feel inadequate.

I’ve trusted in something I cannot see.
Where is it getting me?

Lord, why are you so silent

Through the hardest days?

Why do the hardest days move so slowly?

So close to being on my own
And never felt so alone.

Though I don’t know what good it will do
Trusting in You is all I have to hold onto

I’d love to turn to my old friend
One who was always there for me
But I cannot turn back to the damage he caused

And the scars he left.

So for now, Lord, please take my hand
I’m breaking each day
I’m tired of not hearing Your voice
I’m tired of hanging by a thread
Just please help my family
Please, if anything, help us feel You near.
