Beautiful Thunder

Location

I have so much to do and so much to say

And I know that if I was able to remove that one thing from my chest

that one thing that keeps the light in

that makes me doubt and fear and tread lightly and care that what I’m doing won’t please the masses

I know that if I could do that, I would blind even myself.

I have so much to do and so much to say

Sometimes I feel that one thing start to splinter

and some of the light starts to leak out and the world changes colors

with the thrums and sighs and violins in my ears

Every person is glowing and pulsing with light waiting to escape

and I know that if I could do it, then I could show them how.

I have so much to do and so much to say

And I would stand in the middle of it all and slowly raise my foot and gently put it down

and that would be enough

The light would stream through every crack until it brought all the walls down

in a beautiful thunder

and the music would swell in the colors of the sunset and the light would shine brighter.

I have so much to do and so much to say

But when the thrums and sighs and violins stop

then I can hear the whispers and see the darts

and the pulsing light in each person is wrapped back up and I’m desperate to see it again

But there will be a day when I bring down the walls in a beautiful thunder

and the music will swell in the colors of the sunset

my light will shine brighter and so will theirs.
