The Beauty of Poetry

Ever since I can remember,

poetry has been by my side.

It's as bright as an ember

and lights my way like a guide.

It has been with me each grade

of my academic life.

Each time an upgrade,

as diverse as wildlife.

As I progress, my interest grows

as I learn there's more than what I once thought.

Euphony, cacophony, irony and prose,

Learning all I have been taught.

As I learn, I learn to love

the delicate craft

of morphing words into meaning

that are greater than daft.

It is a universal language,

of many a race, color and creed.

And the real beauty of it all

is that we all share it indeed.
